Pharmacy Technician
The technician works under supervision of the pharmacist and carries out routine tasks such as doing paperwork and entering data into computerised records, filling orders for drugs sent from hospital wards, accepting and transferring shipments of drugs from suppliers and examining stocks for expiry date.The technician is responsible for counting tablets, labelling bottles, and sometimes mixing medicines which need to be reconstituted with water. Most technicians work in hospital pharmacies and some are employed in community clinics or private pharmacies.
