Interview Tips

This guide to job hunting may provide a practical boost if you're looking for a job. It recaps some of the most widely known and broadly discussed tips about job seeking, and presents them clearly and concisely. Unlike other job-hunting books that have been in print for over 30 years, this book is filled with fresh ideas for today's tough times.

Ophthalmic Laboratory Technician

This technician is responsible for creating optical lenses of all types, whether for spectacles or microscopes, telescopes or any other purpose. Working in a laboratory, they receive instructions from an optician or optometrist, select an appropriate material and calculate where curves should be ground. Using a lens grinder, which is usually computerised, they grind and finish the lens, examine it and then fit it into the frame stipulated by the optician. Some technicians work in small laboratories and produce lenses by themselves, others work in large automated laboratories and may specialise in one stage of the process.
