Forensic scientists use scientific methods to investigate crime. They may work with other specialists at the scene of crimes, and are responsible for collecting evidence for scientific analysis, sometimes work in police laboratories to isolate DNA and other evidence, and can give scientific opinion in court. Forensic pathologists perform autopsies in order to determine the cause of death, and report findings to law enforcement agencies and to the coroner. Forensic psychiatrists and psychologists specialise in profiling personality types of criminals, and in educating other law enforcement workers. Forensic anthropologists specialise in identifying decomposing remains and assessing when and how the individual died.
