Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist

Also called Electroencephalograph Technologists, these professionals record brainwaves, using the electroencephalograph, and present results to the physician.They attach electrodes to the patients head, monitor recording quality, write an assessment of the test and keep independent patient records. In addition, they maintain equipment and standards of care in their working area, and assist in patient education. Some technologists specialise in related areas, such as recording peripheral nerve function, or operating room monitoring during major surgery. Most work in neurology departments of hospitals, some work in sleep laboratories and private clinics and a few work in education.
