Dental Assistant
The dental assistant prepares patients before dental treatments, is responsible for obtaining and keeping records and assists during procedures. Often the assistant performs and develops x-rays under supervision of the dentist. In addition, they clean and sterilize equipment, prepare dental cement and other materials, and keep a stock inventory. Sometimes they give information to patients on oral hygiene and ensure that they understand the dentists instructions. Usually they work in a private dentists practice or in a public clinic, some work in dental laboratories making crowns and casts, and some perform secretarial duties, including billing clients and managing appointments.
