These professionals help doctors to use the sophisticated technology available today in order to diagnose and treat heart disease and circulatory problems. Some work in catheterisation units, where a catheter is introduced into the heart in order to diagnose or treat certain cardiac conditions.They are responsible for the preparation of patients as well as assisting the physician in the procedure, and monitor patients during and after the procedure.
