Bioanalyst
Working mainly in research for chemical companies or in university departments, the bioanalyst uses many different techniques to break down, create and investigate biological compounds. He usually works in a labarotory and is responsible for planning research experiments using chemical analysis, carrying them out with the aid of assistants and reporting the findings. He often works within a team of other scientists and provides bioanalytical data for wider clinical research. He may also be expected to train or instruct other personnel in basic analytical techniques such as chromatography, electrophoretic straining, mass spectrometry and various simple methods of analysing materials.
