Art Therapist
The art therapist uses physical mediums to communicate with people who find difficulty in expressing themselves in words. For instance, he may work with finger paints or a sandbox to help autistic children get in touch with their surroundings, or to assist people with mental illness to discover how they feel. Usually the art therapist works in a group setting, in hospitals or institutions, but sometimes he will give individual therapy, and some therapists have their own studios. The therapist works with psychologists, social workers, doctors and nurses to improve treatment and define patient needs, and is responsible for keeping records and doing some administrative work.
